Sue Baker
Counsellor & Psychotherapist

Hello there, I’m Sue, I’m a fully qualified integrative, BACP registered, counselling psychotherapist. I have always worked with people, from my early career in trauma nursing through to later work in midwifery and health visiting. Following on from this I worked for a family survival project, helping people find ways to manage the everyday challenges of life and the impact it has on our mental and physical wellbeing. I also volunteered as a bereavement counsellor for several years.

I believe we are all uniquely individual beings and as such we learn, develop and experience life from this stance. Being an integrative therapist equips me to draw on a range on therapeutic modalities to find the best way to help you. I work with a range of issues, including:
- couples counselling
- trauma
- loss and bereavement
- anxiety in its many presentations
- depression
- stress and life-overload
- emotional dysregulation
- eating disorders
- low self-esteem
- identity issues
- loss of direction in life.

Regardless of what brings you to therapy, I believe that my role is to be a compassionate listener, facilitating and guiding you to find a sense of inner peace and acceptance in your own life; having a safe, trusting space is absolutely paramount in the therapeutic relationship, and I will offer you this. I am passionate about becoming more present and mindful in life, helping you to take a pause, reflect on where you are; where you have perhaps been; and then, where you actually want to
be…

I appreciate how chaotic and demanding life can be, and that’s why I offer a calm space for in person sessions at The Grove Therapy, online therapy, home visits or a combination of all three. I also work very flexibly to find the best frequency to suit your life demands – this may change at times to suit your needs. As well as training as counsellor and psychotherapist, I have further training in couples’ therapy, trauma-informed therapy and mindfulness.
As a registered member of the BACP I am obliged to undertake regular professional training, clinical supervision and abide to their standards of
professional practice and ethics.

I work with all ages (including children and young people), and I offer individual therapy and couples’ therapy. I provide a free telephone consultation to discuss what you are looking for, with no further obligation. After this, your initial session will be at a reduced rate. This offers an opportunity for you see if you feel we can work well together. Please feel free to get in touch and I can talk through any further questions you may have.

My fees are as follows:
£55 per hour for individuals
£70 per hour for couples

Registered with Bupa Mental Health and Wellbeing (MHW) Therapist Network

I'm Cathy, a psychotherapist based in and around Leeds. I offer you a comfortable and supportive environment within which you can begin to get to the know the person you are, and, with that self-awareness, become the person you want to be.

"You can't go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending"
-C.S. Lewis.

I believe that we all hold the key to our own recovery, whatever difficulty we are facing, no matter how big or small. As an integrative therapist, I am not wedded to working with any one therapeutic style; instead, I bring myself (which includes my training, my values, and my broader life experiences) to mould my approach to the individual client, and what they bring to therapy. I believe that the relationship created within the therapy is the key to the process and its effectiveness. I see my role as a compassionate observer in your life, working alongside you in therapy to uncover the possible roots of the challenges you are experiencing and the core beliefs you may hold.

Sarah Hughes
Psychotherapist

Hi, I’m Sarah, a relational integrative psychotherapist in training. Sometimes in life we can feel overwhelmed, stuck, scared, angry, sad, frustrated. These emotions, and others, can feel like they are taking over, causing distress and difficulties. If you are thinking you might like some help and support to talk about your thoughts, feelings and experiences, I above all offer kindness, care, compassion and a listening ear.
As a relational therapist my approach is focussed on us building an authentic and collaborative connection, enabling you to explore and make meaning of the things that have brought you to therapy. It is my utmost priority to create a safe space, without judgement, so you can bring the whole of yourself and your story, at your own pace.

My aim is to support you in achieving the outcomes you desire from therapy. That might be identifying shorter term strategies to address current difficulties, and/or supporting the longer-term journey of knowing and understanding yourself at a deeper level, in turn creating new possibilities, finding peace and acceptance, initiating and sustaining change, and creating the opportunity for more choice in your life.

As an integrative practitioner I draw on a variety of theoretical approaches, enabling me to work with you in an attuned, creative and flexible way that meets your needs. As well as my psychotherapy training, I have a wealth of other experiences that I bring to my practice. These include working in the corporate sector for 18 years, in the UK and overseas in people focused roles, which often involved supporting individual personal development and understanding of self. For the last 6 years I have worked in the mental health sector educating and building awareness within organisations around mental health and the skills required to support someone experiencing mental health concerns.

I am currently in the third year of a four-year UKCP accredited Diploma in Relational Integrative Psychotherapy and attend regular clinical supervision. I offer reduced fees due to my current training status.
I know myself that taking the first step towards therapy can feel overwhelming, but if you think you might be interested to understand more about how we could work together, I offer a free 20-minute consultation.

I can support and work with anxiety, and depression, stress, loss and bereavement, trauma, relationship concerns, fertility, childbirth, parenting, women’s health and wellbeing, loneliness, life transitions, loss of direction, self-confidence, self-esteem, building resilience, initiating change, behavioural patterns and processes you want to explore.

I work in person* with adults (18+ years).
I can work online if required on an ad hoc basis

Fee: £40 for a 50-minute session.

 Duncan Slater
Counsellor and Psychotherapist

Hi I’m Duncan.

I am person centered psychotherapist and counsellor who draws upon a range of therapeutic perspectives in order to support individual needs. I like to work together collaboratively in a way that allows empowerment and feels right for you. It is through thetherapeutic relationship that new understanding, greater awareness, and therapeutic growth is experienced.

Coming to counselling can initially be a little daunting. I can help you feel welcome in a safe space where I offer empathy, acceptance and validation. We can take things one-step at a time, which will allow you to feel valued and heard.

In addition to offering therapy in my practice, I also work as a primary school counsellor. I have had previous experience working in social care and for many years worked as a primary school teacher. I am a parent to 2 adult children, who have given me insight and empathy into their challenging journey through childhood, adolescence and into adulthood.

I am fully qualified psychotherapist and counsellor, with over with 8 years’ experience in working with children, young people and adults. I am a member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (MBACP).

I currently work with Adults, Young People and Children (10+). I have had experience working with a wide range of issues including anxiety, ADHD, self-harm, bereavement, loss, trauma, self-esteem, attachment, gender issues and bullying.

I provide 1 to 1 therapy in person and online by zoom. My practice is LGBTQ+ affirmative.

I offer a free 30-minute consultation call.
